Il present perfect in inglese
The Present Perfect
Si usa have con I, you, we e they, e has con he, she e it. Poi si aggiunge il participio passato.
| Soggetto | Affermativa | Negativa | Domanda |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | I have worked | I haven't worked | Have I worked? |
| you | you have worked | you haven't worked | Have you worked? |
| he, she, it | she has worked | she hasn't worked | Has she worked? |
| we | we have worked | we haven't worked | Have we worked? |
| they | they have worked | they haven't worked | Have they worked? |
I verbi regolari aggiungono -ed (work, worked).
| Forma base | Participio passato | Esempio |
|---|---|---|
| go | gone | She has gone home. |
| see | seen | I've seen this film. |
| eat | eaten | We've eaten already. |
| be | been | Have you been to Rome? |
| Uso | Esempio |
|---|---|
| Esperienze di vita | I've visited Canada twice. |
| Notizie recenti | The prime minister has resigned. |
| Periodo di tempo non concluso | She's drunk three coffees today. |
| Situazione cominciata nel passato che continua ancora | We've lived here for ten years. |
Ever, never, already, yet e just
| Parola | Significato e posizione | Esempio |
|---|---|---|
| ever | mai (in qualsiasi momento), nelle domande, prima del participio | Have you ever ridden a horse? |
| never | mai (in nessun momento), prima del participio | I've never ridden a horse. |
| already | già, prima del previsto, prima del participio | He's already finished. |
| yet | ancora (finora), nelle domande e nelle frasi negative, alla fine | Has the bus come yet? |
| just | appena, poco fa, prima del participio | They've just arrived. |

For e since
Tutti e due rispondono alla domanda How long? ("da quanto tempo?"). Dove l'italiano usa sempre "da", l'inglese distingue: for indica la durata, since il punto di partenza.
| for + durata | since + punto di partenza |
|---|---|
| for two hours | since nine o'clock |
| for three weeks | since Monday |
| for ten years | since 2015 |
| for a long time | since I was a child |
Present perfect o past simple
| Present perfect | Past simple |
|---|---|
| I've been to Paris. | I went to Paris last year. |
| Have you seen my phone? | Did you see the match yesterday? |
| She's worked here since May. | She worked here from 2010 to 2015. |
| I've had two exams this week. | I had two exams last week. |
Been o gone
- He has been to Spain: ci è andato ed è tornato.
- He has gone to Spain: ci è andato e adesso è lì.
Errori comuni
| Sbagliato | Giusto |
|---|---|
| I have seen him yesterday. | I saw him yesterday. |
| I live here since 2018. | I have lived here since 2018. |
| She has went home. | She has gone home. |
| I've lived here since ten years. | I've lived here for ten years. |
