La forma passiva in inglese

The Passive Voice

Someone cleans the office every day.The office is cleaned every day.

They will open the museum in May.The museum will be opened in May.

Il passivo nei diversi tempi

Cambia solo be. Il participio passato resta uguale in tutti i tempi.

English ___ all over the world.

By + complemento d'agente

The Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo da Vinci.
My car was stolen last night.Ieri sera mi hanno rubato la macchina.Non sappiamo chi l'abbia rubata.
The thief was arrested.

  • Quando non sappiamo chi l'ha fatto: My wallet has been taken.
  • Nelle notizie, nei testi scientifici e nello scritto formale: The results were published yesterday.
  • Su cartelli e istruzioni: Photos are not allowed.

Errori comuni
