Komparativ und Superlativ im Englischen
Comparatives and Superlatives
| Regel | Adjektiv | Komparativ | Superlativ |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eine Silbe: -er, -est anhängen | tall | taller | the tallest |
| Endung auf e: -r, -st anhängen | large | larger | the largest |
| Ein Vokal + ein Konsonant: Konsonant verdoppeln | big | bigger | the biggest |
| Endung auf Konsonant + y: y wird zu i | happy | happier | the happiest |
| Zwei oder mehr Silben: more, most | expensive | more expensive | the most expensive |
| Manche zweisilbigen Adjektive: beide Formen | quiet | quieter, more quiet | the quietest, the most quiet |
Unregelmäßige Formen
Einige sehr häufige Wörter haben eigene Formen. Lerne sie auswendig.
| Adjektiv oder Adverb | Komparativ | Superlativ |
|---|---|---|
| good, well | better | the best |
| bad, badly | worse | the worst |
| far | farther, further | the farthest, the furthest |
| many, much | more | the most |
| little | less | the least |
Vergleiche mit than

The + Superlativ
As ... as und not as ... as
Mit as + Adjektiv + as sagst du, dass zwei Dinge gleich sind (so ... wie). Mit not as ... as sagst du, dass das Erste weniger ist. Das Adjektiv bleibt in der Grundform.
| Struktur | Beispiel |
|---|---|
| as + adjective + as | My phone is as fast as yours. |
| not as + adjective + as | Tea isn't as strong as coffee. |
| less + adjective + than | This hotel is less expensive than that one. |
| the least + adjective | It's the least interesting book in the series. |
